FALL CHECK LIST for Outside and Inside your Home

Fall Checklist

Winter takes its toll on us in various ways.  It also takes its toll on our homes. Winterizing your entire home will give you peace of mind and minimize the risk

that damage may occur to your property. The following checklist for the outside and inside of your home will assist you in getting your home ready.

OUTSIDE YOUR HOME

☐           Clean eave troughs and downspouts.

☐           Look for cracks or damage to the outside and repair as needed

☐           Drain pipes that are not required during the winter

☐           Check caulking around windows and door frames, replace as necessary

☐           Check the roof and flashing for damage and repair

☐           Weather stripping requires replacement around doors and windows every few years. Check and replace as required

☐           Winterize your pool or hot tub

☐           Turn water off on outside taps, drain and leave open for the winter. This protects the plumbing during the winter months from cracking due to                    frozen water in the pipes

☐           Excessive snow around your foundation may cause water damage during the spring thaw. Always remove it

INSIDE YOUR HOME
